Case 20M-mode Echocardiogram
The salient features of this M-mode echocardiogram are that the diastolic diameter of this left ventricular chamber (LV) is much larger than it should be at 3.7cm (normal = 2.5 mm) and the end-systolic diameter is also markedly increased at 2.8cm (normal = 1.5 cm). The shortening fraction is mildly reduced at 24% and the wall thicknesses are normal.
