The Large Animal Rescue Team is a highly trained team, composed mainly of faculty, residents, and staff from the UC Davis VMTH, that specializes only in the rescue of large animals. Often times, the LART is asked to help in situations where air evacuation of the animal from the rescue scene is warranted. Other rescue scenarios include overturned trailer extrications and trapped or stranded animals. Since the team consists mainly of veterinarians and staff from the VMTH, animals that are the subject of rescues will receive the very best in medical attention by professionals from the most prestigious veterinary hospital in the region.
To request assistance from the Large Animal Rescue Team, please call the UC Davis VMTH Large Animal Clinic at (530)752-0290. If calling between 5 PM and 8 AM during the week or anytime on the weekend, follow the automated instructions for reaching the after-hours emergency phone number.
