The UC Davis Large Animal Lift (LAL) is a new device designed by
the same people who created the UC Davis Anderson Sling, the gold
standard in large animal lifting equipment. The basic nature of
the LAL makes it practical for use by large animal rescue teams and
emergency personnel alike. The LAL is also much more affordable
than the UCD Anderson Sling, however, the LAL is not meant to be used
for long periods of time. Instead, for large animals who are
unable to stand, the LAL should be used in conjuction with the UCD
Anderson Sling. The information sheet on the UC
Davis Large Animal Lift can be found in this Word
document. This document also contains information on
purchasing the LAL and requesting training. Even more information
on the UCD LAL can be found
here
(including an order form and pricing). PLEASE NOTE: Use of the LAL without undergoing specific
training could
result in serious injury to or death of the horse and/or individuals
attempting to
work with the down horse.
This 2,000lb+ draft horse was successfully lifted with the Large Animal
Lift
and then transferred to the UCD Anderson Sling.
