Many of our clients are referred to the VMTH by veterinarians in private practice. Other clients seek services from the VMTH on their own for a variety of reasons. In either case, an appointment is required. By making an appointment, the time you have to spend in the waiting room can be minimized.
At the time of your appointment you will be given a Client Information Card on which is written your animal's medical record number and the name of the clinician responsible for the treatment of your animal. Keep this card for future reference (such as making appointments, or calling the veterinarian for progress checks).
As you might expect, our veterinarians are very busy with patient care and teaching. When you call to check on your animal's status, please bear with us if you cannot immediately reach the veterinarian in charge of your animal's case. He/She will return your call as soon as possible.
If you wish to visit your hospitalized animal, arrangements must be made by the veterinarian in charge of the case.
If you have been referred to the VMTH by a local veterinarian, he/she will be notified of the treatment we have provided to your animal. In this way, we can help to ensure continuity of veterinary care after your animal returns home.
