The Veterinary Emergency Response Team
The recent firestorm, fueled by 50mph+ winds, devastated several herds of sheep in Yolo County. VERT (Click here for the Veterinary Emergency Response Team home page) worked tirelessly to treat those sheep that could be saved. Unfortunately, many of the sheep had sustained horribly painful burns and have had to be euthanized. We are trying to avoid this by doing everything that we can for the surviving sheep. VERT is donating all of the medications and services to the herdsmen by using our limited grant and donation money. We have been asked how people can donate money to help VERT. If you would like to donate to VERT to help us continue to treat these herds, as well has to have the ability to respond to disasters in the future, you can call credit card donations in to the Veterinary Medicine's Development Office at (530) 752-7024. Or you can send a check made out to "UC Regents (for VERT)" to either of the following addresses. All donations are tax-deductible.
