The veterinary dentistry curriculum for DVM-students
offered at UC Davis has three components: (1) a 2.0-unit (20-hour)
didactic lecture course; (2) three 4-hour
practical sessions; and (3) a 2-week clinical
rotation. All three components are part of the elective curriculum.
Facilities
The didactic lecture course is taught in a traditional
lecture room and the laboratory course in a dedicated eight-dental
unit laboratory facility. The clinical rotation takes place in the
Michael R. Floyd Dental Operatory, a four-unit dental clinic within
the Veterinary
Medical Teaching Hospital.
