Ophthalmology Service
Welcome to the Ophthalmology Service at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, University of California-Davis. The Ophthalmology Service has three primary goals:
- to give quality care to our patients
- to prepare senior veterinary medical students for the ophthalmic
portion of general private practice
- to train residents for board certification in ophthalmology
The Ophthalmology Service routinely provides specialized care for dogs, cats, and horses. In addition, we consult with the Companion and Exotic Pet Service, the Raptor Center, and the Sacramento Zoo. Conditions commonly treated include cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, eyelid abnormalities, corneal disease, retinal disease, and traumatic injuries.
