Imaging Services

Imaging Services provides support for all species of patients. Services performed include radiography, fluoroscopy, computerized tomography (CT scanning), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonography, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.



Veterinarians

Eric Johnson, DVM
Dr. Eric Johnson is a clinical assistant professor of diagnostic imaging. He trained as a student and resident at the University of California, Davis. His special interests include diagnostic ultrasound amd imaging of lymphatic pathways.

Timothy O'Brien, DVM, PhD, DACVR
Dr. Timothy O'Brien completed his veterinary training at the University of Illinois and his doctoral and residency training at Colorado State University. He is currently a professor of diagnostic imaging at UC Davis. His interests include equine radiology, pathology and anatomy. His books include Abdominal Radiology and O'Brien's Radiology for the Ambulatory Equine Practitioner.

Rachel Pollard, DVM, PhD, DACVS
Dr. Rachel Pollard attended veterinary school at the Washington State University, and completed her residency and PhD at the University of California, Davis. She is currently an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging. Her special interests include quantitative imaging techniques using contrast enhanced CT, MR, ultrasound and fluoroscopy.

Sara Puchalski, DVM
Dr. Sarah Puchalski attended veterinary school at the University of Saskatchewan and completed her residency training at the University of California, Davis. She is currently an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging, and her interests include cross-sectional imaging of the equine distal limb, and imaging of musculoskeletal disease.

Mathieu Spriet
Dr. Mathieu Spriet is a clinical assistant professor of diagnostic imaging. He attended veterinary school at the University of Lyons in France, and obtained a Masters degree at the University of Montreal. He then completed his residency training at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the faculty at UC Davis. His interests include MR of the equine distal limb and musculoskeletal imaging.

Erik Wisner, DVM, DACVR, Chief of Service
Dr. Erik Wisner attended veterinary school and completed his residency at the University of California, Davis. He is currently a professor of diagnostic imaging with special interest in cross-sectional imaging (CT and MR). In addition to his clinical duties, he is also the Vice-Chair of the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences.

Allison Zwingenberger, DVM, DACVR, DECVDI
Dr. Allison Zwingenberger attended veterinary school at the University of Guelph, and completed residency training at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the faculty at UC Davis as an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging. Her interests include CT angiography and cancer imaging.
