Dear Client,

As you plan your visit to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), please keep these things in mind:

Plan on spending at least 90 minutes, and up to a full day, if X-rays or other diagnostic tests are to be performed. The VMTH is a teaching hospital. Students, under direct guidance of faculty and resident veterinarians will assist in diagnosing and treating your animal.
Costs for services at the VMTH are comparable to those of veterinarians in private practice. You may discuss cost estimates with the VMTH veterinarian in charge of your case.
Full payment for services is required at the end of your visit. If your animal is hospitalized, a deposit of 1/2 the total estimated charges will be necessary with the remainder expected at the time of discharge. The VMTH accepts cash, checks, and Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card, American Express and ATM cards.

NOTICE

Over the next 12 months, extensive construction will occur in the vicinity of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. You may occasionally encounter road closures and detours as you enter the University of California Davis campus. Please check this page for updated directions just before you visit. When you arrive on campus, please look for the bright orange "DETOUR" signs with directions to the Veterinary Hospital.

Directions to the Large Animal Clinic:

Exit from Interstate 80 onto Highway 113-North (Woodland). Take the first exit from 113 to Hutchison Drive. Take the first right (Health Sciences Drive) to the stop sign. Turn right (West Health Sciences Drive) and proceed to a stop sign. Turn left (Garrod Drive). At the next stop sign, the Large Animal Clinic parking lot entrance will be straight ahead. Enter and park in the client designated or horse-trailer designated parking. Do not block entrances to barns, hospital or parking lot with trailers.

Exit from Interstate 5 onto Highway 113-South (Davis). After reaching Davis, take the Hutchison Drive exit and turn left. Take the first right (Health Sciences Drive) to the stop sign. Turn right (West Health Sciences Drive) and proceed to the stop sign. Turn left (Garrod Drive). At the next stop sign, the Large Animal Clinic parking lot entrance will be straight ahead. Enter and park in the client designated or horse-trailer designated parking.

Directions to the Small Animal Clinic:

Exit from Interstate 80 onto Highway 113-North (Woodland). Take the first exit (Hutchison Drive) and bear right (east) on Hutchison Drive, following the detour signs. Take the second right (La Rue Road) and. take the first right on Garrod Drive. At the stop sign, the parking lot will be ahead of you. Go straight to the entrance (on your right) into the parking lot. Clients do not pay for a daily permit - patient parking is free in designated spaces.
